Our big, tube TV finally died. It is so heavy that we just stuck it in a corner of the room, waiting for the big trash pick-up day this spring. Earlier, I had given Logan our dead DVD player to take apart, which he did with relish (enthusiasm, not the green kind)! He asked us if he could take apart the TV and we let him. It was a week-long process that took up our whole living room. He took out every single bolt, screw, wire, electrical circuit boards, etc. He had a blast! Brad told him he could get money back for the copper wire so he was obsessed with collecting all of it. He took some of the parts to school to sell them off. Amazingly, he had no buyers. But Logan said that was because nobody had any money with them that day. he he!

He was so into this project that he didn't even want to play video games or play with friends! I even had to force him to play outside on some nice days!!
Logan really wanted to see what was inside the glass tube. Brad wasn't going to let him but then consented. We covered it all with a tarp and then broke the glass with a hammer. I was amazed at how pressurized it was! There is a mesh screen towards the front and a silver filament inside covering the back side of the glass. It was neat!
Logan loved this so much that he said that someday he wants a job where he can take things apart!
