Temple Run 2015

This was the fifth year for the Temple Run, although it is the first year any of us actually participated.  Jorja was in a running program at school called Girls on the Run.  At the end of the program, all the girls run in a 5K.  However, the 5K this year was on a Sunday so we opted to race in the Temple Run instead.  This was so much fun!!  I tried to train for it but with my busy schedule I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked.  Jillian practiced a little outside her soccer practices.  Logan didn't train at all.

Official times: Mom - 37:45  Jillian - 32.54  Logan - 31.59  Jorja - 31.17

Woot woot!  My goal was to beat 45 minutes and I did!!  I was super proud of all of us!

The Emperor's New Clothes

Jorja loves to participate in the school plays every semester.  The spring play was "The Emperor's New Clothes" and she had the part of the Minister of Fashion, which had a solo and several speaking parts.  She did such a great job!!

Left: trying on her costume for the first time.  Right: the day of the performance!

Jorja's best friend, Malea Macon played the princess and had a solo part as well.

Mother's Day, 2015

For Mother's Day the girls gave me a spa treatment!!  Of course, half the fun is in the set-up for these girls!  I love them!!

Jorja made a Mother's Day pop-up book in school.  This was my favorite page:

National Junior Honor's Society

Last month Jillian was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society!!  Congratulations Jillian!!  She's sitting in the center of the back row.

At the small reception after the ceremony.  Logan had fun sitting with all of Jillian's friends!  At the table (L-R) Erin, Madison, Jillian, Alice, Alyssa, Alice's mom, and Logan!

At the General Women's meeting in March.  Our stake has a big meet and greet activity before the meeting that is always a lot of fun.  Going with my girls reminds me of going with my mom when we lived close together.

These are a couple of art projects Jillian completed at SparkStudios, the Firehouse's after school program.  Good job Jilly!!

Nature Walk

We are blessed to live near a nature trail!  Jorja, Logan, and I went walking on it a few weeks ago.

There are a lot of clam shells near the river.  This is a big one!!

Kinsey LOVES playing in the water.  I couldn't get a great picture of her because she was jumping around and exploring so much.

Kinsey also loves to go on walks.  She's watching Jorja and Logan go up and down the hill (see next pictures).  Her tongue does not usually hang out like this was she was panting pretty hard.

Fourth Grade Zoo Field Trip

I got to go to the Kansas City Zoo with Jorja's 4th grade class a few weeks ago.  The weather was perfect, except for a few rain drops but that didn't stop us!!  It was fun being with my Jorja-girl!  I gave her my camera and for the most part these are pictures she took.

Jorja with her two besties, Ana, in front, and Hailey, in back.

I loved this!  The zookeepers have trained the hippos to put their big chins on top of the fence to show they are hungry.  We saw a feeding demonstration!!

The kids were studying African animals so we went on a tour of the Africa section.  Jorja got an ostrich, zebras, and giraffes in this picture!

The classes were split up into small groups to study a particular African animal.  This is Jorja with her group, Alli, Joe, Lilly.  They studied the endangered Amur leopard.

Jorja loved how this gorilla came right up to the window!
